Owner Elaine Glass an her husband John, who has gone home to be with God now! John & I started Die Gelbe Rose Carriages in 1991 as a one-horse, one-carriage operation in Fredericksburg, Texas named "The Yellow Rose". In 1992, we found the name to be in conflict with another company, so some of our friends in Fredericksburg (thank you, friends ) helped in the selection of this name. Die Gelbe Rose means "The Yellow Rose" in German. In 1992 we moved our operation to Austin Texas In 1995, DGR started breeding Clydesdales, and have raised some magnificent looking horses. The company grow to 10 carriages and 18-20 Clydesdales. Now I’m Simi retired an as of 2017. I now just run 3 to 4 carriages with our 8 beautiful Clydesdales. So it is always a good idea to make a reservation to insure you find a carriage.
We desire that our customers have the opportunity to experience that old world nostalgia of this wonderful non motorized form of transportation that has been with us since the beginning of the wheel. We also have been in the horse drawn carriage business for a number of years, and look forward to many more successful years. Let us put our experience to work for you.
We strive to make your carriage ride an enjoyable and memorable experience- whether you're on one of our downtown tours, a romantic ride, or a bride making your get away with your new husband!
